Kin

Terms

Kinis a working prototype. This page describes, in plain words, what using it actually means today — it is not a substitute for a formal, lawyer-drafted Terms of Service, which we’ll publish before a wider launch.

What this is

A tool for a family to record where things are and what’s been decided — not legal advice, not a will or any other legal document, and not a substitute for an attorney. Anything the app compiles (the Planning brief, the Summary, the Runbook) is meant to be reviewed by a lawyer before it’s relied on.

Your account

You’re responsible for what’s entered under your login and for who you invite into a workspace. Anyone you invite can see whatever sections you grant them access to.

No promises about uptime or permanence

This is an early, actively-changing prototype. We take reasonable care with your data, but we don’t promise the service will always be available or that data will never be lost — keep your own copies of anything irreplaceable.

Changes

We may change or discontinue features as the product evolves. We’ll aim to give notice for anything that affects your data.
